As most of you know last Friday was one of those rare and gorgeous days here in the Northwest; one of those days you just have to take advantage of. I recently purchased a new camera – the Canon 60D – and have been experimenting with it whenever I can. When Friday showed up in all it’s glory, I decided what better way to spend it than by doing a photoshoot with my best friend?
I’ve been thinking up different shoots I want to try out for awhile. I use magazines, quotes, other pictures, basically anything to inspire an idea. A couple weeks ago I found this picture on http://www.stylemepretty.com:

I love the idea of bright colors on a sunny day and what’s more fun and bright than balloons?!
My next step was location. Every day on my way home I drive over a set of train tracks right near my house. For about a mile on either side, the tracks run through a ton of greenery. I knew if I could shoot facing away from the road, the effect would be a really backwoods, country feeling. I met my best friend Rachael to pick out some bright, summery clothes and then it was off to the party store for balloons! We had a heck of a time getting them into the car…

Finally…we headed out to the train tracks to take some pictures. Here’s a look at some of my favorites…enjoy!

What a fabulous way to spend a sunny Friday afternoon! Looking forward to more shoots, more sun, and more photographs!
Cheers! ~K-Nols
